The Bolingbrook Pelicans is a recreational swim team that competes with the Northern Illinois Swim Conference. Our coaching staff is experienced working with athletes of all ages, and dedicated to helping them develop a positive, lifelong relationship with the sport of competitive swimming. Introduce your young dancer to the basics of tap, ballet and jazz. This class is perfect for the beginner, allowing her/him to explore different dance disciplines while learning basic techniques. Intermediate Tumbling will provide new challenges for our students once they have mastered the basics and encourage them to advance beyond beginning tumbling. Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs Youth karate classes will put children in touch with their bodies and offers a good mix of strength training. Children increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. Classes help increase self-esteem, in addition to enhancing discipline and control. Uniforms, equipment and belt testing are optional for an additional fee through the class instructor. Please note that the Youth, Parent/Child and Adult classes may train together.

Beginner classes are designed for participants with minimal to no formal swimming experience, or who may be working to overcome a fear of the water. Classes will focus on building up your confidence and comfort in the water while practicing water safety skills. These skills include air exchange/breathing, floating, treading, and the foundations of the strokes.

He was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame as the 2018 Grandmaster of the year and has recently been included in the book “The World’s Greatest Living Martial Artists.” Students will learn self-defense as well as improving each student’s self-confidence, discipline, coordination, physical and mental capabilities. Testing fee is $60 and includes the belt and materials. Please wear athletic clothes, no jeans. Must have enrolled in White Belt or previously taken Yellow Belt and Above to register.

Does your child love to perform? This is the class to sign up for! Actors will rehearse and perform their own production of Frozen KIDS. They will explore characters, theater vocabulary, voice and movement. This is a great class for the beginning actors as well as the experienced actors who want to build performance skills and confidence on stage. Actors will receive a script and show t-shirt included in registration costs. Come see what the BPD Theater Company is all about!
Theatre show summary: Frozen KIDS tells the story of Princesses Anna and Elsa in the kingdom of Arendelle. When Elsa’s magical powers plunge the kingdom into an eternal winter, Anna embarks on a journey with a snowman named Olaf, an ice harvester named Kristoff, and Kristoff’s reindeer Sven to find her sister. The story explores themes of sisterhood, acceptance, and the power of “true love”.

Modern Arnis is a weapon based Filipino martial art style founded by Grandmaster Remy Presas. Modern Arnis emphasizes the use of sticks, knives and empty hand techniques. It also incorporates other martial arts such as Small-Circle Jujitsu to create a unique self-defense system based on body mechanics, fluidity, and functionality. Preschool One is for children who are new to gymnastics and is commonly repeated. Preschool Two classes are recommended by an instructor. Please make sure that children are potty trained and out of diapers. Parents must stay in the lobby during the entire class for emergency or bathroom purposes.

Students will work alongside others of similar skill level through the Starfish Swimming curriculum. All instructors are certified in this curriculum, with established benchmarks at every level that combine safety and swimming skills.
This class offers the best of Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Obstacle Training, and Freestyle Movement combined into a brand-new sport. Our focus will be on confidence, respect, listening, working towards goals, strength, agility, flexibility, and creative energy. Each Lil Ninja is required to purchase a uniform package prior to the start of class which includes a t-shirt and headband. Lil Ninjas should wear their uniform consistently once it is received. This is the second level of Preschool Gymnastics for children who have leveled out of Preschool one. Recommendation from the coach is required. This class will build on the skills learned in Preschool One with more focus on technique, form and muscle control. Development of strength, balance, coordination and flexibility are built into every lesson. Please make sure that children are potty-trained and out of diapers. Parents must stay in the lobby during the entire class for emergency or bathroom purposes.
Your child will develop coordination, strength, balance and confidence. Tumblers will learn the following skills: forward and backward rolls, straddle roll, lunge to handstand, cartwheel, bridges, splits and various jumps using tumbling equipment and our Tumbl Trak.
Modern Arnis is a weapon based Filipino martial art style founded by Grandmaster Remy Presas. Modern Arnis emphasizes the use of sticks, knives and empty hand techniques. It also incorporates other martial arts such as Small-Circle Jujitsu to create a unique self-defense system based on body mechanics, fluidity, and functionality. Students will be in class with another student of similar skill level, working through the benchmarks of the Starfish Swimming curriculum. All instructors are certified in this curriculum, with established benchmarks at every level that combine safety and swimming skills.

Whether you’re starting your swim journey, or looking to refine advanced techniques, our private lessons will empower participants to meet their own personal swimming goals, while building a strong foundation of water safety skills. This class is for the ninja who has leveled out of Lil Ninjas and ready to take on the next challenge. Recommendation from the coach is required. This level will build on the ninja skills learned in Lil Ninjas with more focus on kicks, spins, tumbling and a combination of all three. Focus will continue with confidence, respect, listening, working towards goals, strength, agility, flexibility, and creative energy.
Pre-Developmental is a one-hour class designed for our 5-year-old kindergartners who are in school all day! This class will follow the Developmental I format. Children will learn skills on vault, uneven bars, beam, and floor in a safe and controlled atmosphere. Children will spend a small portion of class time conditioning and strengthening the appropriate muscles to help improve their gymnastics skills.

Suggested Gymnastics Attire
Please wear a leotard or comfortable pants/shorts. No jeans, jean shorts, or any other type of clothing with buttons or buckles which could be harmful to your child or the equipment. We require long hair to be tied back and out of face. No shoes, earrings, bracelets or necklaces are allowed. Socks are optional, but not recommended for beam.
MAKEUP PROCEDURE
****Unfortunately, due to participant safety and class ratios, all gymnastics, cheer and ninjas classes are unable to accommodate makeup classes.
This is a non-competitive, introductory class for younger athletes. This class will teach the cheerleading basics and build confidence, strength, coordination and flexibility. Jumps, hand motions, tumbling, stunting and a cheer will be taught, as well as the importance of teamwork. Clean gym shoes must be worn in this class and hair must be tied back neatly out of face. No jewelry allowed for safety reasons.
This fast paced, high energy class is designed to help your Ninja explore the true power they possess.
