Pre-Ballet is the perfect class for this age with stronger emphasis on ballet technique. This class includes a thorough warm up, proper stretching, and the continuous development of the basics of ballet. There is no pre-requesite for this class.

This fun and upbeat class inspires creativity and teaches the fundamentals of hip hop. Students will develop coordination, strength, dance technique, rhythm, and body awareness in a caring, exciting, nurturing environment. This class is an excellent way for children to be introduced to the many benefits of the performing arts.

Children along with their parents are introduced to the world of dance and movement through activities that encourage expression, music appreciation, and creative fun. Our instructors will guide you step by step through this process while you enjoy dancing with your child and creating a special bond!

Bend, stretch, point and flex! The grace of Ballet and flexibility of Tumbling come together in this energetic class! Basic skiills will be taught in a fun and interactive environment and props will also be used to engage the children in the learning process.

Introduce your young dancer to the basics of tap, ballet and jazz. This class is perfect for the beginner, allowing her/him to explore different dance disciplines while learning basic techniques. The benefits of dance are endless, offering the student enhanced self-esteem, improved coordination, and most of all, fun…so join us as we learn to plie’, jete’ and shuffle off to buffalo.

This class serves as an introduction to hip hop dance for our younger dancers. Using games and music, the class focuses on rhythm, musicality, creativity, coordination, body awareness, and basic hip hop technique. It is a great way to get kids moving and introduce them to the many benefits of the performing arts!

Enrich your child’s creativity, movement, coordination and confidence. This beginning dance class will introduce and reinforce the basic fundamentals of dance all while having fun.

Are you looking for a fun variety for your tiny dancer? Something that will have them excited about learning the basics of dance? Our Snack and Dance Class offers a unique opportunity for preschool age kids to continue learning in a class setting. After a quick snack (provided), your dancer will enjoy using songs, props, and much more to get their body moving.

Children enrolled in morning or afternoon preschool at the ACC will be escorted to or from preschool
or Snack and Dance. Children must be dropped off inside facility if attending preschool in the afternoon or picked-up inside facility if attended morning preschool. There is no curbside pick-up or drop off for this program. Snack and Dance is not included as a part of Preschool registration and enrollment in Preschool is not required to participate in Snack and Dance.

Attire:
Comfortable clothes that you can move around in (no jeans) & socks/gym shoes or ballet shoes

Develop poise, grace, and confidence! Level I will introduce and reinforce the basic fundamentals. Advancement to higher levels of training will require teacher recommendation and are based upon the mastering of skills necessary to advance. Staying consistent in training throughout the year is the key to moving up through the levels. Previous Ballet experience recommended.

Hip Hop dance incorporates a variety of old and new urban, street, and pop dance styles. This dance style represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of the music. This class is a fun, fast paced and high energy class that focuses on rhythmic dancing, cardio, and may include floor work. Hip hop dance is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility, develop body balance, and coordination.

Jazz dance utilizes the technique of ballet with a stylized and contemporary approach. Dance fundamentals are developed and mastered in the Jazz I class, and these basic techniques are applied to more difficult work and combinations in higher levels, accordingly.
Previous ballet, jazz or lyrical experience recommended.

This class is an excellent introduction to many different styles of dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Students will gain a foundation and exposure to various styles of dance, keeping them excited, interested, and focused.

This class is designed for advanced dancers with previous technical training. This class will build off of prior knowledge and ability to develop precision and accuracy in technical skills. Students will work on proper alignment, strength, flexibility, understanding of body awareness and mobility to help improve their execution of leaps, turns, jumps and other dance skills/tricks. Class will incorporate drills, exercises, across the floor combinations, floor work and more to really train and develop further in technical skills and ability.

It is never too late to learn to be graceful! Improve your flexibility, poise and posture. Relieve stress, burn calories and have fun at the same time through this peaceful and relaxing dance style. An intermediate level of dance will be taught during this class and will include a technical warm up, barre work and center work with combinations, all specific and appropriate to the level of training.

Looking for something new to try? Pop and lock it as you learn fun and upbeat dance moves. Work up a sweat as our instructor guides you through hip hop technique and styles.

In this five week session, learn and practice the basic techniques of one of the most popular dances, Chicago Style Stepping. Basic steps and combinations, floor etiquette, turns and partnering will be covered in this 2-hour class

Are you ready to take the next step in your ballet training? In Pre-Pointe you will do exercises and training to prepare yourself to go onto pointe. Previous ballet experience and enrollment in our Intermediate Ballet class is required to participate in this class.

Stretch and become limber as you body develops the tools that are needed to become a stronger you. Correctly learn how to become limber. Learn to relax and breathe correctly. In one hour of active stretching you will burn between 240-356 calories. You will go through a series of floor and dance barre stretches to assist you in reaching any goals you may have.

Attire:
Comfortable workout clothing and gym shoes or socked feet, and please bring a yoga mat.

Contemporary dance is an upbeat style of dance that involves aspects of movement from several different genres such as jazz, modern, and ballet. During this class express yourself through music, movement, and emotions. We will focus on how the body moves through space, musical exploration, and directional focus.

Attire: workout attire, dance attire, or a combination of both. Socks, lyrical shoes, or barefoot.
