Students will learn self-defense as well as improving each student’s self-confidence, discipline, coordination, physical and mental capabilities. Instructed by Grandmaster H. Thomas Cameron, a 9th degree black belt with 50 years of experience. Testing fee is $75 and includes the belt and materials. Please wear athletic clothes, no jeans.
Ages 6-18 years
The Bolingbrook Pelicans is a recreational swim team that competes with the Northern Illinois Swim Conference. Our coaching staff is experienced working with athletes of all ages, and dedicated to helping them develop a positive, lifelong relationship with the sport of competitive swimming. Registration fee includes swim team photo package and latex cap with Pelicans logo.
New Swim Team Member Evaluation:
All new participants must attend an evaluation. Pre-registration is required, please see Swim Team New Member Evaluations for available dates/times.
All-Team Informational Meeting and Practice:
All participants and parents must attend the pre-season All-Team Informational Meeting on May 20th, 6-8pm, in the multipurpose room at the BRAC. Light refreshments will be served, and swimmers will attend their first in-water practice of the season 7-8pm.
Pelicans Swim Team Skill Requirements:
Ages 6-8 years: Must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle or backstroke, using correct technique (including rotary breathing)
Ages 9-10 years: Must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle or backstroke, using correct technique (including rotary breathing), and be familiar with breaststroke or butterfly
Age 11-12 years: Must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle or backstroke, using correct technique (including rotary breathing), and must be able to swim 50 yards of another competitive stroke (breaststroke or butterfly) with correct technique.
Age 13-18 years: Must be able to swim 200 yards of freestyle and backstroke, using correct technique (rotary breathing and not stopping), and must be able to swim 50 yards of butterfly or breaststroke.
Schedule:
The season runs May 26th through July 25th. During the Summer season, all competition meets occur on Wednesday evenings. The competition meet and special event schedule will be distributed at the All-Team Meeting on May 20th, and the weekly practice schedule is below. The Bolingbrook Pelicans does not have a practice attendance requirement and can only accommodate short-term schedule changes upon request.

Does your child love to act, sing and dance? Then this is the class to sign up for. Your child will discover the possibilities using their skills and imagination. They will rehearse and perform a monologue, scene and a musical theatre number in the last class. They will explore characters, theater vocabulary, voice, and movement. It is never too late to learn to swim!
Beginner classes are designed for participants with minimal to no formal swimming experience, or who may be working to overcome a fear of the water. Classes will focus on building up your confidence and comfort in the water while practicing water safety skills. These skills include air exchange/breathing, floating, treading, and the foundations of the strokes.
Intermediate classes are designed for participants who are comfortable in the water and have experience with the foundational swimming skills (air exchange, floating, kicking, streamline). Classes will focus on the strokes, improving your technique and endurance. Participants do not need to complete a beginner class prior to registering for intermediate.
T-ball is a great sport to develop socialization skills and coordination. T-ball helps gain greater balance and control which improves player’s overall skill. Participants will learn the fundamentals of t-ball through drills and games including: how to properly hit, throw, catch, run bases, rules of t-ball, sportsmanship & fun!
Our classes will provide a safe (and fun!) environment where students will learn the most effective styles of modern mixed martial arts, infused with lessons on character development. We incorporate boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and jiu-jitsu in our structured curriculum. Every class begins and finishes with a “Mat Chat”, a personal development topic such as focus, confidence, discipline, bully-awareness ect. It also incorporates other martial arts such as Small-Circle Jujitsu to create a unique self-defense system based on body mechanics, fluidity, and functionality. Filipino Martial Arts are showcased in Hollywood in TV shows such as Arrow and in Movies such as The Borne Identity.

Discover the world of Artificial Intelligence through fun, hands-on projects using MIT’s Scratch. This beginner-friendly course blends creativity, coding, and real-world tech to spark curiosity and build future-ready skills. Kids will learn what AI is and how it works in everyday life, how computers make decisions and recognize patterns, how to train simple AI models using Scratch. Some experience in Scratch is helpful, but not necessary. Students should be familiar with using a computer.
Hip Hop dance incorporates a variety of old and new urban, street, and pop dance styles. This dance style represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of the music. This class is a fun, fast paced and high energy class that focuses on rhythmic dancing, cardio, and may include floor work. Hip hop dance is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility, develop body balance, and coordination.

Stretch and become more limber as your body develops the tools that it needs to become stronger. This is a way to correctly learn how to train your body to become pliable safely. Learn to relax, breathe correctly, and enjoy your time in class. In this one hour of active stretching you will burn between 240-356 calories. You will go through a series of floor and dance barre stretches to assist you in reaching any goals you may have.

Our instructors will guide you step by step through this process while you enjoy dancing with your child and creating a special bond.

This class serves as an introduction to hip hop dance. This class focuses on rhythm, musicality, creativity, coordination, body awareness, and basic hip hop technique. It is a great way to get kids moving and introduce them to the many benefits of the performing arts!

Looking for a relaxed way to get moving and meet new people? The Weekend Walkers is all about easygoing walks, good conversation, and enjoying the outdoors-no pressure, no pace goals. We meet on weekends to explore Bolingbrook Park District parks and trails, welcoming walkers of all levels. Whether you’re here for fitness, fresh air, or friendly faces, this is a space to unplug, stretch your legs, and start your weekend on a positive note. Upon registration, program dates and locations will be received via the registration receipt.
Camp Alotta Fun Sunrise/Sunset Extended Camp
Different activities will be structured depending on the number of participants and their energy level. Parents can register for Sunrise session (7:00 am to 9:00 am), Sunset session (4:00 pm to 6:00 pm) or both. Participants must be enrolled in the same camp session and extended camp sessions.

Little Learners classes provide children with opportunities to socialize,
overcome separation anxiety and be creative all while enjoying their first
