Trees Forever Partnership Brings Funding to Enhance Community Forests
BOLINGBROOK, IL – Bolingbrook Park District was selected to receive two grants as part of the Illinois Community Canopy Grant Program, made possible through a collaborative partnership between Trees Forever and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. This funding will enable the park district to better manage their urban forest. The grants will allow for the removal of hazardous trees along a popular walking path as well as expand the native tree diversity at Knights of Columbus Park.
Trees Forever, a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental stewardship and community forestry, facilitated this significant opportunity for Bolingbrook Park District. The organization works across Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin to help communities enhance their urban canopies through strategic tree planting initiatives that provide lasting environmental and economic benefits.
The Bolingbrook Park District joins numerous other Illinois communities that have benefited from Trees Forever’s programs, contributing to a statewide effort to expand and improve urban canopy coverage across the region.
