Active Projects

Numerous projects are planned for 2026 to enhance and maintain Bolingbrook Park District assets. Below is detail of each capital project for the year.

The purchase of new capital items include: portable stage, new volleyball standards at BRAC, new chairs for rentals at BRAC, new deck chairs at Pelican Harbor Indoor Aquatic Park, and replacement of kitchen equipment at Ashbury’s at Boughton Ridge.

This is a replacement of 21-year-old playground equipment. Includes the replacement of the playground and ADA items to be addressed. Project is anticipated to start in April with completion in early summer.

This project includes sealcoating District property throughout the community. This is an annual project the District performs to maintain 18-miles of asphalt trails and over 1 million square feet of parking lot throughout the entire District. Work is scheduled to take place starting in the spring and continue through early fall.

This projects includes the demolition of the existing 30-year lobby locker room with a completely brand-new restroom area with all new finishes. Work is anticipated to begin in late 2026 with completion in early 2027.

The Zone at the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex (BRAC) will be transformed into a new functional fitness training space with access off Lifestyles Fitness. This space will be utilized by Lifestyles Fitness members, along with opportunities to reserve for training sessions and classes. The project is anticipated to begin in June and be completed by early August.

The original 30-year-old facility sign located along Lindsey Lane will be replaced with a new sign.

The Park District will be making improvements to Pelican Harbor Outdoor Aquatic Park. These improvements include: inlet cover replacements, VGB cover replacements, and bathhouse exhaust fan replacement. The project is anticipated to take place prior to the outdoor pool season.

The project includes stripping existing sport court color coating on tennis and basketball courts and replacing with new color coating at Prairie Trails and Sunset Parks. The project is anticipated to take place in late summer, early fall depending on weather.

Turf on the Balstrode Park cricket pitch will be removed and replaced with new turf. Anticipated completion in early Spring.

The Park District will be replacing the existing carpet throughout Ashbury’s at Boughton Ridge.

The District will be working on replacing picnic tables, trail signs and park signs throughout the District. This is part of a multi-year plan for full replacement.

The Park District will be replacing asphalt trails and parking lots throughout the District. Tentative project sites include: Boughton Ridge Golf Course; Lily Cache Trail (Weber Road through Kings Road); Rotary Park Trail; and Indian Boundary parking lot, drive and sport courts.

The Park District will be purchasing four trucks and a zero-turn mower for the Buildings, Grounds and Natural Resources Department.
