Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The Bolingbrook Park District complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination on a basis of disability. Bolingbrook Park District will make reasonable accommodations in recreation programs to enable participation by an individual with a disability. Please make requests at least two weeks prior to the start of a program if you need an accommodation. If you have questions or need accommodations or assistance, please call Mike Baiardo at 630-739-0272 to discuss a plan for these accommodations.
Northern Will County Special Recreation Association
Bolingbrook Park District is a Member Agency of Northern Will County Special Recreation Association. NWCSRA provides engaging, community-based recreational programs and inclusion services for children, teens and adults with special needs. NWCSRA offers Special Olympics, cultural art programs, camps, trips, special events and more. We provide a safe learning environment with caring, dedicated, trained staff. NWCSRA has been providing recreational and social opportunities to individuals of all ages with disabilities since 1976.

Inclusion Services
Bolingbrook Park District and NWCSRA together provide inclusion services to individuals with disabilities wishing to participate in Bolingbrook Park District recreation programs at no additional cost to the family. Inclusion services may include, when necessary, staff training, program modifications/adaptations, adapted equipment, additional staff and program observations.
Requesting Inclusion Services
When registering for a Bolingbrook Park District program for the first time:
- Mark the ADA accommodation section of the registration form to indicate that the participant will require assistance from NWCSRA.
Once your registration form is submitted, the Bolingbrook Park District will contact you to discuss the type of inclusion support needed for the participant.
- The Bolingbrook Park District will provide NWCSRA with an inclusion request that contains both program and participant information.
- NWCSRA will work with Bolingbrook Park District to put the necessary inclusion accommodations in place for participation in the desired program(s).
- Communication between you, NWCSRA, Bolingbrook Park District staff continues throughout the Inclusion process.
Accessibility in the New Playgrounds
Building accessibility features into our playgrounds is important to Bolingbrook Park District. These features may be hard to see in the renderings above. Below details some of the features built into the design. Bolingbrook Park District will continue to incorporate accessibility features into the playgrounds planned over the next five years.
- Jaycee Park features 10 play components that are accessible via transfer with activities.
- Lily Cache Park has 9 elevated play activities accessible by transfer for ages 5-12 years. There are also 14 ground level activities.
- Poplar Park has 7 elevated play activities accessible by transfer for ages 5-12 years. There are also 14 ground level activities.
- Heritage Park has 5 elevated play activities accessible by transfer for ages 5-12 years and 3 elevated play activities accessible by transfer for 2-12 years. There are 12 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years and 2 ground level activities for 2-12 years.
- Remington Park has 6 elevated play features accessible by transfer and 14 ground level activities.
- Central Park has 2 custom component structures. The 2-5 years structure has 2 play features accessible by transfer and 1 ground level activity. 100% of the elevated events are accessible via transfer station. The 5-12 years structure has 4 play features accessible by transfer and 13 ground level activities. 80% of the elevated events are accessible via transfer station.
- River Bend Park has 3 elevated play features accessible by transfer and 9 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years.
- Indian Boundary Park has 4 elevated play features accessible by transfer and 3 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years.
- Indian Chase Meadows Park has 8 elevated play features accessible by transfer and 19 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years.
- Remington Park has 5 play features accessible by transfer and 7 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years. 62% of the elevated events are accessible via transfer station. It also has 10 ADA compliant fitness pieces.
Plimmer Park has 4 play features accessible by transfer and 5 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years. 57% of the elevated events are accessible via transfer station.
Drafke Park has 7 play features accessible by transfer and 8 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years. There are 2 ground level activities for ages 2-5 years and 1 ground level activity in the swings area.
Ivanhoe Park has 5 play features accessible by transfer and 18 ground level activities for ages 2-5 years. There are 4 play features accessible by transfer and 16 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years.
The Forest Park has 6 play features accessible by transfer and 5 ground level activities for ages 2-5 years. There are 9 play features accessible by transfer and 9 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years.
Century Park has 5 play features accessible by transfer and 16 ground level activities.
Erickson Park has 7 elevated play features accessible by transfer and 11 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years.
Balstrode Park has 9 elevated play features accessible by transfer and 15 ground level activities for ages 5-12 years.
