Active Projects

Numerous projects are planned for 2025 to enhance and maintain Bolingbrook Park District assets. Below is detail of each capital project for the year.

This is a replacement of 21-year-old playground equipment including replacement of the playground and ADA items (asphalt trail connecting Northridge to Rockhurst).  Project is anticipated to start in April with completion in summer.

This is a replacement of 18-year-old playground equipment including replacement of the playground and ADA items.  Project is anticipated to start in April with completion in summer.

This project includes sealcoating District property around town.  This is an annual project the District performs to maintain 18 miles of asphalt trails and over 1 million square feet of parking lot throughout the entire District.  Work is scheduled to take place starting spring and continue through early fall.

Project includes replacement of fencing near admissions and the concession area at Pelican Harbor.  In addition, some privacy fencing near the Lazy River will also be addressed.  Construction will be complete prior to start of the 2025 pool season.

Project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2025 with opening by Memorial Day.  Project is funded by Will County through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Project consists of removal and re-installation of shingle roof at multiple park sites through the community.  Project may possibly start in spring and continue through fall.

Project includes updating some gym curtain and basket motors inside the BRAC gym.  All motors being replaced are originals to the facility when constructed in 1996.

During the annual shutdown at the Indoor Pool, ADA improvements will be made to the pool deck, along with the surfacing for the indoor leisure pool.  Project will work alongside the annual maintenance resulting in a longer closure during summer 2025.

Park District will be replacing boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, chemical controllers and other items at both indoor & outdoor Pelican Harbor throughout 2025.  Projects will take place prior to pool opening or post closure resulting in no unforeseen pool closures.

Irrigation system repairs and/or replacements at Boughton Ridge Golf Course, Lily Cache East Campus and Trojan Football field will take place throughout 2025.

Park District will be purchasing a robotic athletic field striping machine to allow staff to be more efficient with their day-to-day activities for all athletic fields maintained starting in April through November each year.

The Park District will purchase two trucks and one utility vehicle for the Buildings, Grounds and Natural Resources Department.
