The Pickleball for Beginners class is for anyone who has never played or has limited experience. This class will focus on the fundamentals of the sport by teaching forehand and backhand shots, serving and court positioning. Players will learn the basics of scoring and rules throughout the duration of this class. Skill Levels 0.0 – 2.0 are welcomed to participate.

Experience the beauty and wonder of the Arboretum’s 1,700 acres on an interactive, guided tour aboard a park district mini-bus. Led by naturalists with a deep knowledge of the trails and ecology of The Morton Arboretum, this one hour ride takes you on an adventure through woodlands, wetlands, and prairies. Experience the Lincoln Park Zoo without the hassle of navigating and parking in the city! Penguin Encounters last 60 minutes-approximately 15 minutes outside the habitat, 20 minutes in a behind-the-scenes area, and 20 minutes inside the habitat with the penguins. The Penguin Encounter is optional, minors must have an adult guardian at all times during this trip. All purchases, including food, are on your own. Picnic lunches are welcome and may be stored safely on the bus.

Join an experienced Naturalist and other nature enthusiasts for interactive, low-impact hikes in the Bolingbrook area. Each hike will feature a variety of topics as we explore local ecology and natural history, supported by preserved specimens and day-of discoveries. Topics will include insects and other invertebrates, plants, mammals, and more. Prepare to get a little dirty as we flip over logs and look for animal tracks! Registration includes all three dates; transportation to each trail head will be provided. Minors must have an adult guardian at all times.
