These skills include air exchange/breathing, floating, treading, and the foundations of the strokes.
Intermediate classes are designed for participants who are comfortable in the water and have experience with the foundational swimming skills (air exchange, floating, kicking, streamline). Classes will focus on the strokes, improving your technique and endurance. Participants do not need to complete a beginner class prior to registering for intermediate.

Children will spend a small portion of class time conditioning and strengthening the appropriate muscles to help improve their gymnastics skills. Children who are new to gymnastics should enroll in a Developmental I class. Students who have taken gymnastics should enroll in the class level instructed by their coach on their class recommendation sheet. Children may be asked to transfer to the appropriate level class.
Suggested Gymnastics Attire
Please wear a leotard or comfortable pants/shorts. No jeans, jean shorts, or any other type of clothing with buttons or buckles which could be harmful to your child or the equipment. We require long hair to be tied back and out of face. No shoes, earrings, bracelets or necklaces are allowed. Socks are optional, but not recommended for beam.
MAKEUP PROCEDURE

Competition takes place from January through May as part of the AAU; Gymnastics of Illinois Junior Organization (GIJO). It is a great way to prepare your child for high school gymnastics within the park district or at their high school. Testing is done late Spring and Early Fall and is required in order to enroll as a new member of the team.
Parents are required to attend our annual mandatory meeting. Team leotards, warmups, grips, meet fees and tape are additional fees beyond class registration.

The Bolingbrook Illusions is an award-winning team that competes against other teams in the Midwest. We offer level 2-5 compulsory gymnastics and all levels of Xcel. These teams will follow routines and progressions for vault, uneven bars, beam and floor created by USAG. Competition takes place from January through May as part of the AAU; Gymnastics of Illinois Junior Organization (GIJO). It is a great way to prepare your child for high school gymnastics within the park district or at their high school. Testing is done late Spring and Early Fall and is required in order to enroll as a new member of the team.
Parents are required to attend our annual mandatory meeting. Team leotards, warm ups, grips, meet fees and tape are additional fees beyond class registration.
