250200 / Bolingbrook Pelicans Swim Team

Ages 6-18 years
The Bolingbrook Pelicans is a recreational swim team that competes with the Northern Illinois Swim Conference. Our coaching staff is experienced working with athletes of all ages, and dedicated to helping them develop a positive, lifelong relationship with the sport of competitive swimming. Registration fee includes swim team photo package and latex cap with Pelicans logo.

New Swim Team Member Evaluation:
All new participants must attend an evaluation. Pre-registration is required, please see Swim Team New Member Evaluations for available dates/times.

All-Team Informational Meeting and Practice:
All participants and parents must attend the pre-season All-Team Informational Meeting on May 20th, 6-8pm, in the multipurpose room at the BRAC. Light refreshments will be served, and swimmers will attend their first in-water practice of the season 7-8pm.

Pelicans Swim Team Skill Requirements:
Ages 6-8 years: Must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle or backstroke, using correct technique (including rotary breathing)
Ages 9-10 years: Must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle or backstroke, using correct technique (including rotary breathing), and be familiar with breaststroke or butterfly
Age 11-12 years: Must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle or backstroke, using correct technique (including rotary breathing), and must be able to swim 50 yards of another competitive stroke (breaststroke or butterfly) with correct technique.
Age 13-18 years: Must be able to swim 200 yards of freestyle and backstroke, using correct technique (rotary breathing and not stopping), and must be able to swim 50 yards of butterfly or breaststroke.

Schedule:
The season runs May 26th through July 25th. During the Summer season, all competition meets occur on Wednesday evenings. The competition meet and special event schedule will be distributed at the All-Team Meeting on May 20th, and the weekly practice schedule is below. The Bolingbrook Pelicans does not have a practice attendance requirement and can only accommodate short-term schedule changes upon request.
