215204 / Little Learners-Little Learners 4

Little Learners classes provide children with opportunities to socialize,
overcome separation anxiety and be creative all while enjoying their first
classroom experience. Time together begins with open play followed by
clean-up and ending with a group activity time. Children will interact with
age-appropriate toys, have sensory encounters, create both process and
product-based art and participate in music/movement activities. The
curriculum is based on the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines for Children
Birth to Age Three.
PARENT NOTES
Parent Notes:
* Please dress your child in play clothes.
* Children do not have to be toilet trained for these classes.
* We request that you remain in the building during class time.
* To allow for enjoyment for all attendees, please leave older siblings at
home.
* Little Learners 1 is with adult.
* Little Learners 2 is a transitional class, allowing for adult participation if
needed
* Little Learners 3 and 4 are child only.
* It is recommended that classes be taken in order, but children can be
enrolled at any level that fits their age.

Students will work alongside others of similar skill level through the Starfish Swimming curriculum. Please Note: In the event of inclement weather, changes will be communicated via SimplySwim Portal at 8am on the day of lessons. The Bolingbrook Illusions is an award-winning team that competes against other teams in the Midwest. We offer level 2-5 compulsory gymnastics and all levels of Xcel. These teams will follow routines and progressions for vault, uneven bars, beam and floor created by USAG. Competition takes place from January through May as part of the AAU; Gymnastics of Illinois Junior Organization (GIJO). It is a great way to prepare your child for high school gymnastics within the park district or at their high school. Testing is done late Spring and Early Fall and is required in order to enroll as a new member of the team.

Parents are required to attend our annual mandatory meeting. Team leotards, warm ups, grips, meet fees and tape are additional fees beyond class registration.

The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training with Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED – BL course prepares youth to care for children and infants safely and confidently. It includes hands-on activities videos and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course covers feeding, diapering, picking up and holding children safety and emergency response. We want to prepare participants well for emergencies, but CPR can be physically demanding and participants should ideally weigh at least 85-90 pounds to participate. The First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-person training and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 2 hours to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of both the online and in person portions of the course a valid 10-year Babysitter’s Training digital certification and a valid 2-year digital certificate for Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

203124 / Camp Alotta Fun M/W/F Entering 4th Grade

Camp Alotta fun will provide campers with the opportunity to participate in weekly themed activities that will include arts and crafts, group games, sports, music, nature, swimming, climbing wall and field trips. Campers will be placed in groups by grade and will participate in activities both individually within their group as well as whole camp activities. The 7th-8th grade campers will have additional mini-trips planned geared towards this age group. Several of our counselors are certified teachers or college students working toward degrees in education or recreation. Camp meets rain or shine. Campers should bring a sack lunch with a drink each day. Camper must be entering specified grade in the fall to participate in this program.

215102 / Preschool Camp M/W/F

Preschool Camp is a great way to add structure to your child’s summer. This program encourages development of math, science, art and reading concepts through indoor and outdoor explorations. Children will discover the outdoors using all of their senses. Children will take a field trip to Parkie’s Oasis each Friday. Each week has a different theme, so feel free to sign up for more than one week. All Preschool Camp attendees must bring a refillable water bottle to camp each day. Children must be toilet trained for this camp and ePACT must be completed by Noon Thursday prior to first day of Camp.
