Children along with their parents are introduced to the world of dance and movement through activities that encourage expression, music appreciation, and creative fun. Our instructors will guide you step by step through this process while you enjoy dancing with your child and creating a special bond!
Attire:
Parents-comfortable clothing and gym shoes
Children- comfortable clothing and ballet shoes or gym shoes

Girls – leotard (optional skirt), tights, pink ballet shoes
Boys – fitted shirt, shorts, black ballet shoes

Be a part of the “Outstanding Program of the Year” awarded by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association! Power Dance takes place right after school. Never danced before? No problem! We accept and train all levels. This program is very athletic, using the basic fundamentals of dance with the latest dance moves and styles. No Class November 20th

It is never too late to learn to be graceful! Improve your flexibility, poise and posture. Relieve stress, burn calories and have fun at the same time through this peaceful and relaxing dance style. Beginning levels of dance will be taught during this class and will include a technical warm up, barre work and center work with combinations, all specific and appropriate to the level of training.

Are you ready to take the next step in your ballet training? In Pre-Pointe you will do exercises and training to prepare yourself to go onto pointe. Previous ballet experience and enrollment in our Intermediate Ballet class is required to participate in this class.

Stretch and become limber as your body develops the tools that are needed to become a stronger you. Correctly learn how to become limber. Learn to relax and breathe correctly. In one hour of active stretching you will burn between 240-356 calories. You will go through a series of floor and dance barre stretches to assist you in reaching any goals you may have.

Attire:
Comfortable workout clothing and gym shoes or socked feet, and please bring a yoga mat.

Are you looking for a fun variety for your tiny dancer? Something that will have them excited about learning the basics of dance? Our Snack and Dance Class offers a unique opportunity for preschool age kids to continue learning in a class setting. After a quick snack (provided), your dancer will enjoy using songs, props, and much more to get their body moving.

Children enrolled in morning or afternoon preschool at the ACC will be escorted to or from preschool
or Snack and Dance. Children must be dropped off inside facility if attending preschool in the afternoon or picked-up inside facility if attended morning preschool. There is no curbside pick-up or drop off for this program. Snack and Dance is not included as a part of Preschool registration and enrollment in Preschool is not required to participate in Snack and Dance.

In this five week session, learn and practice the basic techniques of one of the most popular dances, Chicago Style Stepping. Basic steps and combinations, floor etiquette, turns and partnering will be covered in this 2-hour class. This is the perfect way to get ready for those high school reunions and weddings or simply build your confidence on the dance floor. Best of all it’s a chance to just enjoy a fun time with others.
