250400 / Parkie's Harbor Heroes Summer Camp

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a Harbor Hero? Come find out first hand. Get a behind the scenes look at training of a lifeguard, build on swim skills with a daily swim lesson, and have fun at Summer camp! Campers will participate in a community volunteer opportunity every Friday. Details will be included in your pre-camp packet, sent out prior to camp.
Please Note: This camp runs rain or shine. Campers will need to bring a lunch each day of camp (or they can use the concession stand at Outdoor Pelican Harbor), a refillable water bottle, and a backpack containing a towel, swim suit, and sunscreen. A typical day for a Harbor Hero includes a swimming lesson from 8:30-9:10 am. After the lesson, the campers meet the counselors within the waterpark and participate in activities to learn lifeguard skills and technique in preparation to compete in the IPRA Junior Lifeguard Games. The Junior Lifeguard Games event runs into the evening hours (date TBD). Harbor Heroes must be able to swim 25 yards without stopping and tread water for 30 seconds.
